AJ Woodworks is an Austin-based cabinet making business.  This is the third site we've done for them.  With this version we were looking to create a site that was visually stimulating yet able to stay out of the way when the content needed to shine.  Visit the live site or read on for more details.

Front page slideshow

The most prominent item on the front page is a slideshow highlighting some of the work the client was most proud of.  The entire site, including this slideshow, was done without flash which means visitors will never have to install new software to view it.  Clicking on slideshow images takes the visitor to a relevant page within the site.

Prominent contact information

Frequently, visitors to a local business site are just looking for contact information and studies show that if they don't find what they are looking for on your site quickly they'll look somewhere else.  For this site we put the contact information at the top of every single page.

Fast load times

The main purpose of this site was to show off the work done by the client through images.  Image intensive sites can be slow to load but by displaying the structure of the page first and then adding images as they download we were able to keep the site feeling fast and responsive.
